Root Prunning and Root Barrier

Root Pruning and Root Barrier
Billions of dollars of hardscaping is in jeopardy from tree roots. Sidewalks, curbs, planters, foundations, driveways, pools, and underground utilities all face potential damage from encroaching tree roots. You may have the tell-tale cracks and raised areas indicating root problems at your home, business, or commercial property. Estimated repair costs for a sidewalk or curb could run into thousands of dollars. Add to that the potential liability costs if someone injures themselves on your property, and the cost just went up --- way up!!! Our root pruining service will help alleviate this problem - before there is a problem.

Our root pruner cuts a trench approx. 2" wide and 18" deep. It cleanly slices through tree roots, so as not to tear or vibrate the root which can cause damage to the tree. We then install a root barrier material (Bio-Barrier™) into the trench to prohibit regrowth. New root growth will be trained downward for increased lateral growth. Bio-Barrier™ is guaranteed by the manufacturer to be effective for 15 years. Your walkways, sidewalks, and other hardscape elements will be potected from further damage for a long time to come!

Since all situations are unique, we recommend having a Certified Arborist assess the condition of your tree. In some cases, root pruning can produce an unstable tree and removal may be the only solution to eliminate further damage.
